Role

Starting as soon as possible in an entry-level position, you will begin formal education in September 2025, working towards becoming a professional Electrical Installations Engineer (NVQ Level 3) by the end of your apprenticeship. This position would suit an Armed Forces Veteran wanting to get professional qualifications as a mature apprentice.

At Total Automated Solutions, you will gain experience with a wide range of electrical schematics, providing an excellent foundation for a career in electrical installation.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, you will:

  • Wire and crimp cables according to electrical schematics.

  • Lay out, drill, and tap backboards as per design specifications.

  • Drill and cut doors for electrical fittings and furniture.

  • Once you have developed the basic skills, you will work on-site installing electrical systems.

  • As we work nationwide, this role requires overnight stays away from home several nights per week.

  • Gain hands-on experience with a progressive learning curve in electrical installation.

  • Complete the Electrician Installation Apprenticeship at York College, maintaining regular attendance and achievement levels.

Entry Requirements

To enrol at York College, we are looking for candidates who have:

✔ 5 GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, including Maths and English.
✔ Desirable: A Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in Science or a construction-related qualification.

The role is based at our Total Automated Solutions office in Tockwith.
